Welcome to the ground-breaking Ex-Mo, it is a microwave motion sensor using the original pioneering Doppler technology that has been designed and certified to operate within Hazardous Area environments. Ex-Mo offers Atex and IECEX, IP66 Zone 1 and Zone 21 certification for Gas and Dust areas.


Ex-Mo helps save on unnecessary power consumption from lighting and other switching devices. Ex-Mo can be used to control site lighting so that lighting is only switched on when people are present and off when they are not, therefore saving electricity by reducing your energy bills and reducing your Carbon Footprint.

"We have used the Ex-Mo in two different applications at Vopak's London terminal and this resulted in energy savings.

 

The first application was on 3 areas of tank farm lighting where we wanted a photo cell to control the lighting but have the ability to set the LUX level as we found standard photo cells where not adjustable and would always come on to early and turn off to late. This reduced the time the lights where on by about an hour a day.

 

The second application was on the road loading bays where all the lighting was on at night and we used Ex-Mo to detect when a vehicle arrived for loading and this then switched the low level lights on until the vehicle left the bay. This reduced the time these lights were on by about 50%."
